Our first appointment was 'Colours' and we were booked in for 9am-11:30am.
This was the one I was dreading most however everything went really smoothly and although I felt like we were put on the spot and had to make decisions within a few minutes for some items thankfully we were well prepared and stayed on track without too many roadblocks.
After many discussions with hubby in regards to the colours we'll be using on our facade I ended up leaving the final choice with hubby. The only thing we couldn't agree on were the basins for the ensuite! Our colour consultant Stephanie was great, and offered her suggestions as we went along.

Note: please disregard the New Sable Luxe Essastone sample - as we were going to use this on our back bench, however instead we are going to have a laminate back bench top as we don't want any contrast between the top and cabinets. We opted to go for the same look as the Drysdale 30 that's on display at Keysborough!

Electrical Appointment
Our electrical appointment started 10 minutes earlier than expected at 11:20am as we were ready to go after our colour appointment finishing by 11am.
Our electrical consultant Nathan was great to deal with and he knew his stuff. We felt at ease straight away and he worked with us to set out our additional powerpoints, tv points etc. room by room.
As we are getting our LED's installed after handover Nathan easily advised that we can off centre each batten (for a small fee) that way when it comes to getting the LEDs installed, the batten will be in the right location ready for the downlight to be fitted.
We also got pre-wiring done for a ceiling fan in our master and alfresco. Additional TV points in the Games room, Master and Theatre. Pre-wiring on each side of garage door for future lighting we will install after handover.
We added extra powerpoints to all rooms including one on the side of the island bench.
As we went along we could see the price incrementing and we soon got to $3000 worth of changes!
Tile Appointment
We were booked in for a 2pm appointment, however as we got through our electrical appointment within an hour we were there just after 12:30pm! We wandered around the National Tiles showroom for about half hour before realising there was a separate showroom specifically for Porter Davis..wow! Definitely exceeded our expectations there. We asked to see our tile consultant a bit earlier however she was on lunch so I think we started only 10 minutes earlier.
We were confident that our appointment would take no more than an hour though as we only had to choose the one tile.
Thankfully we chose one of the cheaper tiles just outside their standard category 1 range. We weren't too fussed as we were after an ivory coloured tile. They had the tile in a matt finish which was standard however we upgraded to the Gloss finish...certainly not anywhere close to a high gloss though! The upgrade to this subtle gloss finish cost us an extra $300. Not complaining!

We were pleased to be all done by around 3pm so we could beat the traffic home!
Our consultant Bonnie was a wizz on the computer and quickly showed us the layout of the tiles in all our areas.
