Our tile for the facade

February 23, 2014

We visited our local National Tiles and found a mocha coloured external tile (shown below) for the front projection of the facade (around master bedroom window) seeing as Parks Edge require us to use 2 different materials at part of their estate guidelines.

Fingers crossed we don't have to go to the National Tiles Porter Davis showroom in Port Melbourne.
I've emailed our Porter Davis building co-ordinator our tile preference. We may also use this same tile for our alfresco floor depending on the price.

Our preferred tile shown with our Dune (roof colour) and Jasper swatches (window frame colour)
Our garage door colour selection was originally Jasper colour however will change to Dune colour to avoid clashing with the Mocha tile.

Facade Dramas!

February 20, 2014 -

Unfortunately Parks Edge have knocked back our request to have a plain fully rendered house. They've requested that we use two different materials. For most people this is easy as they'll opt for part brick, and part render... but for us it's a little trickier as we're building entirely with Hebel.

So we have very few options, but the easy one is to use tiles on part of our facade - most likely the front projection around the master window.

So now we have to select a tile to suit our facade. This is going to be tough as we don't know if we'll choose a tile that is very similar to our Winnow render colour (off white) or instead opt for a Colorbond "Dune" colour tile to match the roof. Decisions, Decisions. Our choice may also impact our "Jasper" garage door colour and we may have to go for a lighter brown instead.
